What this policy covers

#

This policy explains how cancellation and refunds work for paid Legalyard AI plans and credit packs sold by Innvoq Labs LLP. It applies to purchases made on legalyard.ai and in the Legalyard AI mobile apps. It supplements the Terms of Service; where the two differ, the Terms govern.

The Free plan is not a purchase

Nothing in this policy applies to the Free plan. You can stop using it at any time, and account deletion is available from Settings → Account.

See: Terms of Service — Subscriptions, Billing, Taxes & Refunds

Who takes your payment

#

The payment processor is chosen once, when you check out, from the country on your billing profile, and every renewal and refund for that purchase goes back through the same processor.

Where you are billedProcessorWho the seller is
IndiaRazorpayInnvoq Labs LLP is the seller and issues the tax invoice.
Everywhere elsePaddlePaddle is the Merchant of Record: it sells to you, collects any VAT or sales tax, and its terms apply alongside ours.
iOS appApple App StoreApple is the seller. Purchases, renewals and refunds are governed by Apple's terms.
Android appGoogle PlayGoogle is the seller. Purchases, renewals and refunds are governed by Google Play's terms.

Cancelling a subscription

#
  • Where. Cancel any time from Settings → Billing on the web, or from your App Store or Google Play subscription settings for a plan bought in the app.
  • When it takes effect. Cancellation is always scheduled for the end of the billing period you have already paid for. You keep your plan, its features and its credit allowance until that date; no further payment is taken.
  • Changing your mind. A web subscription that is scheduled to cancel can be resumed from Settings → Billing at any point before the period ends, and billing then continues as before.
  • After the period ends. Your account moves to the Free plan. Free-plan limits apply from that moment.
  • Moving to a cheaper plan. A downgrade is likewise scheduled for your next renewal date; you keep the current plan until then. Plans bought in the app are changed in the store's subscription settings and also take effect at the end of the current period.
  • Promotional plans. A plan granted through a promotion or invitation has no billing to cancel; it simply ends on its stated date unless you move to a paid plan.

Credit packs

#
  • A credit pack is a one-time purchase available on paid plans. The credits are added to your balance as soon as the payment settles.
  • Credits are consumed on use. Your daily and monthly plan credits are spent first, so pack credits are preserved for as long as possible.
  • Unused pack credits expire twelve months after purchase and are then removed from your balance.
  • If an operation fails on our side before it completes, the credits it reserved are returned to your balance automatically. You do not need to ask.
  • Because pack credits are delivered in full at purchase and drawn down as you use them, a pack is not refunded for partial use except where the law requires it (see section 6).

Purchases made in the mobile apps

#

Subscriptions and packs bought inside the iOS or Android app are sold and billed by Apple or Google, not by us. We do not hold your payment details for those purchases and cannot issue a refund for them ourselves.

  • Request a refund from Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or from Google Play, under their refund policies.
  • When the store grants a refund on a subscription, the store notifies us and the subscription ends in your account at that point.
  • Cancel a store subscription from the store's subscription settings. It stays active until the end of the current period, as with web subscriptions.

Your statutory rights

#

These rights are set out in the Terms of Service and are repeated here so they are easy to find. They are not affected by anything else on this page.

  • India. Where required by the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and its rules, you have a 7-day cooling-off period during which you may cancel for a pro-rata refund of the unused portion, subject to fair-use deductions for substantial consumption.
  • EU / EEA. You have a 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU. By starting to use the Service during the cooling-off period you expressly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that this loses your right of withdrawal once the Service is fully performed within the period.
  • United Kingdom. You have an equivalent 14-day right of withdrawal under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
  • Elsewhere. Mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction (for example in California or Australia) are unaffected by this policy.

Outside these rights, fees are non-refundable.

How to request a refund

#

Write to support@legalyard.com from the email address on your account. Refund requests are reviewed by a person, not granted automatically, so include:

  • the plan or credit pack, and the date of the charge;
  • whether you paid on the web (Razorpay or Paddle) or in the iOS or Android app;
  • the reason for the request, and the statutory right you are relying on if any.
  • An approved refund is returned to the original payment method through the processor that took the payment. We cannot refund to a different card or account.
  • Refunds for in-app purchases must be requested from Apple or Google (section 5).
  • Approved refunds are issued within 10 to 12 working days of approval. Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to show the credit.

Reversed and disputed payments

#

If a payment is reversed, charged back or otherwise fails, we may suspend access to paid features until it is resolved. Please contact us before opening a dispute with your bank — most billing problems are quicker to fix directly.
